Abstract des Autors

This chapter provides a structural approach to network governance in sport. Network theory and network-analytic concepts enable an understanding of the structural architecture and underlying mechanisms of interorganisational sport networks (IOSNs) at the network level. Different forms of network governance and structural contingencies are presented that explain the functioning of IOSNs and under which conditions they are effective. The systematic and theoretically grounded conceptualisation of IOSN governance not only provides guidance for strategies of governing IOSNs but introduces a theoretical framework that provides conceptual and methodological directions for future empirical investigations of IOSN governance.
