Abstract des Autors
The aim of this review was to analyse overtraining and the factors leading up to its occurrence. The research is based on the gathering and analysis of data on international sport, with a focus on specialist literature. The article defines concepts such as "super fatigue" and "super-tension" that underlie the phenomenon of overtraining, the factors that increase the likelihood of overtraining and methods for preventing these phenomena. The article concludes that young and adult athletes need to be followed by specialist professionals that are able to keep a close watch on the training process, without neglecting to study other factors, such as athletes' private lives.
