Die vorgestellte Quellenedition umfasst zwei skihistorisch bedeutsame Originaldokumente aus den Jahren 1910/11 bzw. 1916/17. Beide Dokumente wurden erstmals quellenvergleichend untersucht. Durch begleitende Quellen- bzw. Archivrecherchen ließ sich das Themenfeld quellenkritisch erschließen und das Erscheinungsbild des frühen deutschen Schulskilaufs detailgetreu und anschaulich nachzeichnen. Beide Dokumente geben Aufschluss über die Anfänge des deutschen und internationalen Schulskilaufes und könnten Ansatzpunkt für skihistorische Forschungen zur Problematik des Kinder- und Jugendskilaufes Ende des 19./Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts in Deutschland und Europa sein. Im Zusammenhang mit den aktuellen Bestrebungen, durch das Projekt „Wintersportschule“ dem Schulskilauf in Deutschland neue Wachstumsimpulse zu verleihen, bietet sich auch die Nutzung der Quellen im „Lernort Schule“ (Komplex fächerverbindender, interdisziplinärer Theorieunterricht), z. B. im Geschichtsunterricht (nicht nur in der Abiturstufe), an.

Abstract des Autors

Two documents on skiing of historical importance “Fostering of skiing in schools” (1910/11) and “Snow run in schools and in military lessons” (1917) – a source text. The source texts presented here comprise of two original, ski related documents of historical importance, datina from 1910/11 and 1916/17 respectively. Both documents were analyzed for the first time by comparing their sources. Through the use of accompanying sources, or archive research as the case may be, the subject matter was made continually more accessible, and the image of skiing lessons in early German schools could be traced in vivid detail. Both documents give an insight in to the beginnings of skiing classes in German and international schools and could be a starting point for historical research in to the problems concerning skiing for children and adolescents in the late 19th and early 20th century in Germany and Europe. In the context of the current efforts by the “Wintersportschule”, (school for winter sports), project to furnish skiing with new impulses in German schools, the use of the sources in the “place of learning” provides complex, interdisciplinary theory lessons„ for example in history lessons, not just at high school level.
