Author's abstract

Monographs, anthologies, as well as articles from professional journals published in the German language in the years 2014 and 2015 provide the basis of this overview of current topics being discussed in the field of physical education. The numerous articles on physical education and school sport relevant to this review require selective sampling. The objective is to focus on selected topics that were addressed frequently in 2014/2015 publications and also more current versions of overview articles on physical education development. Since various topics included in this review are being continually discussed, it is necessary to include articles published before this reporting period for a more comprehensive understanding. Pedagogical and didactical discussions characteristic for this year are introduced with the title "Physical Education and Physical Education Research: From Competence Orientation to Inclusion". Therefore, the following text concentrates on 3 aspects: sport didactical foundations and conceptions (chapter 2), sport didactical focal points (chapter 3) as well as professionalization of physical educators (chapter 4).
