Abstract des Autors

This book contains the proceedings of the 1st International Congress on Sports Science Research and Technology Support (icSPORTS 2013). icSPORTS 2013 is co- sponsored by INSTICC (Institute for Systems and Technologies of Information, Control and Communication) and SportTools, Technology for Sport. icSPORTS has the institutional sponsorship of the Olympic Committee of Portugal; Portuguese Golf Federation; Portuguese Surf Federation; Portuguese Institute of Sports and Youth and Portuguese Federation of Sports for Disabled. icSPORTS is also held in cooperation with the European College of Sport Science (ECSS); European College of Sports and Exercise Physicians (ECOSEP); Sociedade Portuguesa de Biomecânica (SPB), BenficaLab, Portuguese Society of Physioterapists (APF) and technically co-sponsored by the International Association of Computer Science in Sport (IACSS). The Congress Technical Program includes oral presentations (full papers, short papers, and extended abstracts), organized in four simultaneous tracks: “Signal Processing and Motor Behavior”; “Sports Medicine and Support Technology”, “Health, Sports Performance and Support Technology” and “Computer Systems in Sports”. All full papers and short papers are included in this book of proceedings. The congress includes also several thematic sessions organized by specialized researchers: Effect of the Environment on the Sport Performance (EESP); Motion Analysis and Biofeedback for Improving the Performance of Golf Players (MabipGolf); Technology in Surfing (TechSurf) and Performance Analysis in Soccer: How is Technology Challenging Practices? (PerSoccer) A major aspect of the program is the inclusion of a set of four plenary keynote lectures, given by internationally distinguished researchers, namely: James S. Skinner (Indiana University, United States); Marco Narici (University of Nottingham, United Kingdom); Robert J. Neal, (Golf BioDynamics, United States) and François Hug (University of Queensland, Australia). icSPORTS received submissions from 32 countries, in all continents. To evaluate each submission, a double blind paper review was performed by the Program Committee, whose members are highly qualified researchers in icSPORTS topic areas. A short list of papers presented at the congress will be selected for publication of extended and revised versions in the Sports Engineering Journal by Springer. All papers presented at this congress will be available at the SciTePress Digital Library. Congresses are also meeting places where collaboration projects can emerge from social contacts amongst the participants. Therefore, in order to promote the development of research and professional networks the congress includes in its social program a Congress Social Event & Banquet in the evening of September 20. We would like to express our thanks to all participants. First of all to the authors, whose quality work is the essence of this congress; secondly to all members of the Program Committee and auxiliary reviewers, who helped us with their expertise and valuable time. We would also like to deeply thank the invited speakers for their excellent contribution in sharing their knowledge and vision. Finally, a word of appreciation for the hard work of the secretariat: organizing a congress of this level is a task that can only be achieved by the collaborative effort of a dedicated and highly capable team. We wish you all an inspiring congress and an unforgettable stay in the lovely region of Vilamoura, Algarve, Portugal. We hope to meet you again next year for icSPORTS 2014, details of which will soon be available at http://www.icsports.org.
