Abstract des Autors
Pro měření motivačních orientací respondentů jsme použili dva dotazníky: Sources of Sport-Confidence Questionnaire a Perception of Success Questionnaire.
Abstract des Autors
The main aim of the study is to further explore the relation of motivational characteristics and doping-related attitudes and behavior in youth athletes. The study is grounded in Nicholls' theory of achievement motivation proposing ego and task orientations as two mayor motivational characteristics that may be associated with doping-related attitudes, intentions and behavior. We used two instruments for measuring the motivational orientations: Sources of Sport-Confidence Questionnaire and Perception of Success Questionnaire. For measuring attitudes towards doping we used Performance Enhancement Attitude Scale. 2851 respondents participated in the study (mean age = 16.2, SD = 1.84, boys 50.7%). The observed correlations and regressions suggest that task/mastery orientations are negatively related to reported use of doping, doping intention, positive attitudes towards doping and positive attitudes towards cheating in sports. Opposite relationship was observed between these doping-related characteristics and physical self-presentation as a source of confidence.
