Abstract

In regard to the overall topic of “Physical Education Teacher and Coach Education” the authors take a more focused approach and concentrate on the role of collaboration in the teacher education process. It is is a very important topic in regard to physical education teachers and also to coaches. The authors first of all analyze the construct of collaboration especially pointing out the extended knowledge related to teaching, teachers, and the teacher education process in physical education. In a second chapter the deliberate practice is the focus of the analysis. A third chapter offers an illustrative summary. Besides the used references a list of “Selected Sport Pedagogy References on Collaboration: 1986 to 1996” is added by the authors for further information in regard to the topic of collaboration.
