Abstract des Autors

Because of rapid motions that take place during takeoff, the transient aerodynamic forces acting on ski jumpers are difficult to measure. They remain poorly understood. The ultimate project goal associated with this study is establishment of a numerical method based on computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to predict transient aerodynamic forces during the takeoff motion. With numerical simulation, CFD is useful to observe the flow and to calculate the aerodynamics. It is a suitable analytical method for cases in which fluid analysis using actual surveys is difficult (Zaidi et al., 2010; Defraeye et al., 2010), as in the takeoff motion. Nevertheless, performance of the inspection of the result must be calculated carefully. This study was conducted to acquire basic data showing the validity of the CFD analysis results and to develop a simulation framework using CFD for ski-jumping aerodynamics.
