Abstract

The purpose of this study is to assess the prevalence and investigate gender differences of anxiety and depression among HEI students in Libya, and their association with social factors such as accommodation during the semester, social support and monthly income. This study used a questionnaire which was designed in English and developed from previously published tools [e.g., the Social Support Questionnaire (Sarason et al., 1983); American College Health Association Survey 2005; National Health Interview Survey (USA) 2007; Students Health Survey WHO-2005]. The questionnaire was translated into Arabic; the translation was performed twice independently to check for inconsistencies. Weitz (unter Verwendung wörtlicher Textpassagen)
