Einleitung
This article aims to review the psychological-sociological literature of journals in German-speaking countries published between 2013 and 2014 with a special focus on physical education and sports pedagogy. The authors concentrate on papers that focus on health promotion and health behaviour in children and adolescents in different contexts (e.g. school, sports clubs or community). With this paper the authors suggest and also inspire a more integrative view on sociology, psychology and pedagogy, as research perspectives derived from sports psychology and sports sociology represent an important resource for sports pedagogy. Especially in the field of health-related physical activity these two disciplines provide insights into social and psychological components, preconditions and effects of human behaviour in sports and physical activity environments. The knowledge about such determinants or outcomes of physical activity or inactivity form an important framework to develop and promote, for instance, relevant pedagogical competencies in physical education teachers or in health promoters. This knowledge constitutes the basis to create a successful teaching process in sports education classes or to define successful health promotion processes in interventions with a physical activity component. The authors identified 14 journal articles, which were divided into five categories: Physical self-concept, cognitive functions, physical activity behaviour and sedentary lifestyle and quality of life and physical activity behaviour and preconditions of physical activity behaviour. Each category is represented by several articles that are summarized below. Einleitung (gekürzt und geändert)
