Abstract des Autors
The main scope of the present project was to set a fundament for sprint specific testing conexpts. In detail, the specific aims of the single studies were to (a) develop treadmill based test concspts especially designed for diagnostics of sprint skiers, (b) filter sprint performance related variables, and (c) get information on the physiological loading during a sprint competition. The specific hypothesis were, (1) that short-duration maximal speed in the techniques double poling (DP) and diagonal stride (DIAG) predicts XC skiing sprint performance over race distance, and (2) that a XC skiing sprint using roller skis can be simulated on a motor driven treadmill including a velocity self-control apparatus.
