Abstract des Autors
Imagery is one of the most intriguing operations of the human brain. The ability to formulate mental images represents an evolutionary advantage for the acting individual by preparing the individual to act properly in the environment. Commonly, Motor Imagery (MI) or Mental Training has been defined as an internal rehearsal of movements from a first-person perspective without any overt physical movement [1]. During MI, a person especially experiences the bodily sensations of the imagined movement. Thus, MI primarily appears to be proprioceptive or kinesthetic. MI has become a major tool for the study of representational aspects of action. Furthermore, it is considered to be an important technique in applied sports and exercise psychology with athletes as well as with patients [2]. Verf.-Referat
