Abstract des Autors

Kazan aviation institute was founded in 1932 in the period of formation of the aviation industry of young Soviet republic. The first two departments were dedicated to training aircraft structural and aviation motor engineers. In the prewar years students had military training which included physical culture exercises. And our physical education teachers mainly focused on domestic sports contests, showing significant results as well. Nevertheless, the introduction of the “Ready for Labour and Defence of the USSR” complex in these years significantly intensified the interest in physical culture among youth. The paper reveals the history of the sports club of Kazan aviation institute and the trends of its development along with description of students' achievements and events held by the university. In 2007 the university became national research technical and is among the best universities in Russia. In 2008 the new cultural-sports complex "KAI OLIMP” was put into operation, established in accordance with the program of the United Russia party, with the assistance of the administration of the Russian Federation and Tatarstan Republic. Yusupov Rinat Andarzyanovich has become the head of the sports club of KNRTU and KSC KAI OLIMP and was in charge of the construction of the whole complex on behalf of the university administration. In the future the unique, educational, sports and production cluster is to be established based on the sports club, department of physical culture and sport via interpenetration and integration.
