Abstract

The main social reason for any human to engage himself in motion is various needs that, as well, involve sport movement. Sport movement is integral motion of mechanical and biological kind that is managed with special educational programs and regulated by the competition rules of various sport disciplines. The content and forms of athletes’ movement are conditioned by their age, sex, specifics of sport discipline, and performance level. Sport movement is also a part of students’ educational system, encouraging their social activeness, self-expression, self-help, and space for competencies expression. If compared to students of other specialities, sport studying students’ physical activeness is of much more intensiveness. It is the main form for practical expression in the content of various sport studies and ensures learning and improvement at full extent of various sport disciplines. The goal of the research was to establish physical education students’ of Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences (LUES) movement abilities in different periods and to execute data comparative analysis. The object of the research was movement abilities of LUES physical education students. The results of the research. It was established that physical education students’ movement abilities, valuating under the results of track and field athletics events (tests) of period 2002-2012, varied diversely – some remained stable and others had a tendency to decrease. Significantly higher were the indices of men’ 400 m and 1500 m running and javelin throw (p<0.05) results in 2002, when comparing to the ones, reached in 2012. Results of other events did not differ significantly. girls’ results of seven events (long jump, triple jump, shot-put, 400 m hurdles, 200 m, 100 m, and 800 m) in 2002 were significantly higher than in 2012. Declining students’ movement abilities impede and prolong the training process of sport movements and actions. Correlation links of executed tests have proven that successful physical education students’ movement can improve if executing purposeful physical loads that would improve take-off from board kinematic and kinetic indices.
