Abstract

On September 21-24, 2011, The 8th International Symposium on Computer Science in Sport was held in Shanghai. About 200 experts attended the symposium, which focused on the theme "Computer makes sports more accurate". This conference is conducted with a view of bringing together academicians, coaches, trainers, physical education lecturers/teachers, fitness instructors and sports/exercise science experts on one platform to update knowledge in various sub-disciplines of computer science in sport. Parallel with the conference’s theme, this Conference puts an emphasis on building a better city and creating a better life through active computer science in sport. With the development of computer science in sports, the conference we are hosting is for sharing with participants the latest research findings in the domains of exercise, recreation and competition, and for realizing and promoting the contributions of exercise and health in bringing a more harmonious, healthy and enjoyable life to people. Following the spirit of previous conferences, this conference will provide an opportunity for sports and exercise scientists or enthusiasts and the sports fraternity from countries and regions of the World to communicate the current issues in sports and exercise. The delegates will also be provided with opportunities to explore the possibilities of collaborative research and exchange of knowledge in the area of sports and exercise sciences.
