Abstract des Autors

The main objective of the research study is to present the level of sport activity in organized as well as unorganized forms of children age 12 to 15 in Central Bohemia. A questionnaire method (n = 2564) was used in the research to obtain data about the level of sport activities of children age 12 to 15 living in Central Bohemia. Findings prooved rapid general fall in sport activity correlating with increasing age of the participants (12 to 15 years age). The highest percentage identified themselves as non-competing unorganized sportpeople (41,3%) next to club membership (38,1%). There is a great sexbased difference in this segment. 28,0% of girls mentioned participation in a club, while the same question was answered by 49,2% of boys. Third was non-competing organized sport activities with 27,5% of answers. There is higher percentage between girls – 32,6% (i.e. dance classes in schools) to boys (23,3%). 42,2% participants mentioned no experience with organized sport when the girls were more inactive (44,6%) than boys (39,9%). Sport activity in organized form was dropping with increasing years of participants – 34,7% of 12-year old did not filled in any discipline, 38,0% in the sample of 13-year old, 43,8% among 14-year old, and more than half of participants (51,1%) of the 15-year old. Non-organized sport activities at home or in the garden were mentioned more by girls (57,9%) than boys (51,2%), similarly rural children (62,7%) in comparison to 50,7% of urban children. Overall, the results show that boys (35,5%) get involved more in unorganized activities than the girls (22,7%). The research study prooved higher sport activity among boys than girls and younger kids (12-year old) than older ones (15-year old). Verf.-Referat
