Abstract
Abstract des Autors
The gigantism of the “Olympic Games” repeatedly sparks criticism of this great event. In fact, gigantic building projects can present serious (economic) problems for the organisers of the games. On the other hand, there is huge commercial exploitation of the Olympic Games, which brings a flood of money into the coffers of the IOC. The IOC uses revenues from granting television rights amongst other things for its sporting development aid programme “Olympic Solidarity”. With over 60 million US dollars per annum, those national Olympic committees that need the help most are given financial, technical and administrative support. Verf.-Referat
