Abstract des Autors

Aggression in sports represents an important social and psychological phenomenon
which needs to be considered both in the perspective of active sport participation and
in the context of sport spectators. Aggressive behavior in sports is determined by
specific conditions of various sport disciplines and also by situational influences stem-
ming from the sporting competition. In the article, we present an overview of psycho-
logical approaches to aggression in general, as well as to aggression in particular
sporting disciplines. We also consider possible relations between aggressive behavior and successful performance of athletes. In addition, we focus on aggressive behavior in spectators of sporting events which is becoming one of the most serious social problems in contemporary sport. Verf.-Referat
