Abstract des Autors
This study follows the previous study on the assessment of gross motor function in preschool children with the help of a test published in Česká kinantropologie (Šlachtová, 2010). From the aspect of quality of the tasks performance we were interested if the preference of the leg affects the quality of the task performance and how. The population sample consisted of 125 children between 4 and 6 years old boys and girls. We used four simple motor tasks: standing on one foot, hopping, jump to the right/left 180° and heel to toe walking on a line. The results show that in the qualitative signs of the upper limbs in three of the motor tasks there are most children with optimum motor task performance with the choice of standing and take-off on the left lower limb and also with the first jump to the right. Children preferring standing and take-off on the right lower limb and choosing the first jump to the left had worse movement coordination. We recommend symmetric motor tasks for children in preschool age to support both of functions of the lower limbs – standing and swing phase. Verf.-Referat
