Abstract des Autors

The transition to the flight and the flight phase in ski jumping have an important influence on the length of the jump. Thus, the purpose of this study was to assess the execution of the transition to the flight and the flight phase in the Nordic combined competitors (NC) and to compare them with the group of ski jumpers (SJ). The jumps of 30 NC and 30 SJ competitors, who performed ski jumps on the HS-134 m jumping hill, were analysed by 2D videography. The kinematic data were collected from the lower extremities, trunks, and skis of the competitors. Lower extremities and the center of mass (CoM) of the SJ group are translated more forward in the section 23–33 m behind the jumping hill edge (p < 0.01), in comparison to the NC competitors; the angular velocity of the CoM is bigger in the SJ group (p < 0.05). The CoM of the SJ group is translated more forward in the area about 60 m behind the jumping hill edge (p < 0.05). The NC competitors achieved jump lengths comparable to the SJ competitors by having significantly higher in-run velocities (p < 0.01). Verf.-Referat
