Abstract des Autors
Adipose tissue is an active endocrine organ and produces a number of endocrine substances referred to as adipokines which play an important role in the food intake regulation and significantly influence insulin sensitivity and in some cases directly induce insulin resistance in skeletal muscle, liver and adipose tissue. The aim of this article is to review of recently discovered adipokines which are considered to take part in energy homeostasis regulation. The possible therapeutic potential of these adipokines in the treatment of insulin resistance, endothelial dysfunction, a pro-inflammatory response, progression of atherosclerosis and diabetes will be discussed.
