abstract	In der vorliegenden Untersuchung wurde eine deskriptive Analyse der physiologischen und anthropometrischen Profile von 108 alpinen Skifahrern (63 Männer, 45 Frauen) der spanischen Nationalmannschaft der Jahre 1996-2006 durchgeführt. Bestimmt wurden die maximale Sauerstoffaufnahme (VO2max), die maximale aerobische Leistungsfähigkeit (MAP), der Body Mass Index (BMI), der Körperfettanteil, die Muskelmasse sowie der Somatotyp. Die ermittelten Werte für die VO2max ähneln den aus der Literatur bekannten Werten für leistungsorientierte alpine Skirennläufer. Bezüglich der anthropometrischen Parameter wurde festgestellt, dass die Muskelmasse in Abhängigkeit von Körpergewicht und Kraftzunahme steigt. Der Körperfettanteil nimmt gleichzeitig ab. Der Körperfettanteil bei den Frauen ist im Durchschnitt größer als bei den Männern. Für die Auswahl von geeigneten Leistungssportlern für den alpinen Skirennsport in Spanien, sind diese Ergebnisse jedoch nur begrenzt verwertbar, da nur wenige der untersuchten Athleten der Weltelite angehören.
