Abstract

Lately aggression displayed during the sporting contest and after it becomes a serious social problem. Aggressive behaviour in sport is harmful and not acceptable, thus the ways of diminution of aggression are considered. The scientific problem is lack of investigation both of analyzing and estimating aggression among athletes of team sports (in our case football players of football sport schools) according to their sex and age. The aim of investigation is to reveal the features of aggression of football players aged 15 to 16 and aged 17 to 18. The objects of study are peculiarities of aggression of football players aged 15 to 16 and aged 17 to 18 (boys and girls). It is presumed that there are more forms of aggression among football players aged 17 to 18 than among football players aged 15 to 16. During the research the following methods were applied: the A. Buss – A. Durkee questionnaire (to define the forms of aggression) and mathematical statistics (Student t test). The research was carried out in 2010 with 211 football players aged 15 to 16 and 17 to 18 (boys and girls). The research revealed the fact that animosity among girls and boys football players is estimated alike (correspondingly 15.65±3.73 and 16.55±4.42). According to generalized animosity index significant disparity between girls and boys was not established (p>0.05). Results of aggression index of different sex football players showed that the aggression of boys football players is of higher level than giris football players (correspondingly 17.17±3.67 and 16.26±3.74). According to results of investigation animosity of football players aged 17 to 18 is statistically significantly of higher level (p<0.001) than of football players aged 15 to 16 (correspondingly 16.71±3.99 and 15.43±3.98 point). According to indicator of aggression index statistically significant difference among football players of different age was defined (t(209)=2.32; p<0,05). When applying the A. Buss – A. Durkee questionnaire it was established that boys football players statistically significantly estimate more favourably such forms of aggression as physical aggression (p<0.001), indirect aggression (p<0.001), irritation (p<0.001); whereas such forms of aggression as offence (p<0.001), suspiciousness (p<0.001) and verbal aggression (p<0.005) are more characteristic to girls football players. Analyzing the display of aggression according to age it was established that such forms of aggression as physical aggression (p<0.05), irritation (p<0.001), offence (p<0.001), suspiciousness (p<0.05), verbal aggression (p<0.05) are significantly more characteristic to football players aged 17 to 18 than to football players aged 13 to 15.
