Abstract
This case report gives an overview of what handball is, its importance in Germany and how talented handball players are typically selected. In the second section, the theoretical background of existing player assessment and evaluation is described. Third, the results of the last three years of evaluation are presented and conclusions related to the future of this program are drawn. These sections are highlighted by other findings of the authors' work group, which suggest that changes in the system are necessary. Finally, the authors give advice for policy makers, coaches, parents and researchers. Aus dem Text (geändert)
