Abstract

Knowledge coming from sports pedagogy, sports psychology and sports sociology is of enormous value in practical work, and is highly advantageous for sports teachers and coaches working in the field to have a functional understanding of social systems and behaviour in sport at their disposal. Knowledge gained from studies in disciplines such as sports psychology and sports sociology to some extent provides relevant information to create successful teaching processes in sport education classes or to define successful coaching processes in competitive sports. This article focuses on the subject of psychological-sociological foundations of sport pedagogy in recent journals in German-speaking countries between 2009 and 2010. To provide an overview, the topics of structure, change, and coupling of organizations, the development of motor performance in the context of cognition and personality, and the topics of imagery and psychological training and embodiment have proven to be appropriate.
