Abstract
In accordance with Mechling, the authors consider dexterous postural control as an adaptation of well learned strategies which are a functional integrated part of a broader information-movement coupling. In two experiments the authors measure balance control of rowers in standing and sitting conditions. In accordance with the idea of functional integration, the author suppose an influence of suprapostural tasks in different conditions, standing and sitting as well. Especially in rowing, smart performance of balance is necessary. In contrast to approaches of general abilities, the authors expect different adaptations of strategies for balance control, when acting in sitting or standing conditions. Einleitung (geändert)
