Abstract

The body as soma (the shape of the body), sarx (the flesh of the body), pexis (the body and soul in unity). Soma and sarx are the objective body; they are addressed by natural sciences. Pexis is the body, subjective, it is studied as a phenomenon. Embodiment in relation to speech. The role of the hands and speech in human life. To understand pexis means to understand that the body does not end with the skin but is connected to its surroundings. From a phenomenological point of view the connection of the body to its surroundings is based on intentionality. Intentional analysis of the connection to one’s surroundings and the world is a subject of Daseinsanaysis. Daseinsanalysis is actually research into the possibilities of the human body in the life of the given person. The possibilities of the body as protection. The role of bodily schematics in the Daseinsanalysis of the body’s possibilities. Sporting achievement and its hermeneutic analysis. “Machenschaft” (manipulative domination) and a Cartesian approach to sporting achievement. Sporting achievement as a fetish on the market of human achievement. Biological science and the mechanism of accomplishment. The transformation of the body into an instrument. Is the body an instrument or an object? Kant’s categorical imperative and the body as an instrument of the adoration of achievement in sport. Verf.-Referat
