Abstract

Immediate recovery after exercising is an essential feature in various sport activities. Furthermore, numerous research have indicated that the rest interval between sets is an important variable that affects both acute responses and chronic adaptations to resistance exercise programmes. In this study we examined the influence type of exercising on the annual changes on immediate recovery of cardiovascular indices after dosed exercise test. The participants of the study were a group of adult athletes (runners and basketball players, n = 26) and the two groups of boys, i.e. Sports games group (n = 83) and representatives of cyclic movement performance group, mainly runners (n = 89). Both boys’ groups underwent a 30-s vertical jumps test at 11, 12, 13 and 14 years. Electrocardiogram (12-leads ECG) was registered during exercising and two minutes of recovery. The value of recovery of RR interval and JT interval that occurred during the first minute after exercising was taken for analysis We compared the obtained data between the groups and the values of changes of analysed indices in both boys groups during the one-year. The results obtained during the study showed that a faster recovery after dosed exercise test is the typical feature for boys groups. The type of exercising plays some role in the differences of the development and maturation of cardiovascular system. There were not found significant differences between the groups when comparing the changes obtained during the whole period of experiment, i.e. starting from age 11 up to 14, but these changes was not a smooth process. For sports games group significantly the greatest change during the year was found at l3th year while for the representatives of cyclical movement performance group the changes in the Speed of recovery were smoother.
