Abstract

The number of children and adolescents of either sex participating in sports (organised and recreational) would seem to have increased significantly in Western countries in the last decades. Not surprisingly the increase in sports participation appears to have been accompanied by an increase in the number of articular sport injuries. Fortunately, the majority of injuries are of light to mild severity, not requiring surgery or systemic drug therapy. In 176 young patients aged 8-15 years, 187 light to mild articular sport injuries were topically treated with diclofenac epolamine (DHEP plaster); no side effects were recorded. Verf.-Referat
