Abstract
Abstract
Training science is in need of a theoretical framework concept. The principle of super-compensation is unsuitable for this purpose. Making use of the ergonomic load-stress concept and an understanding of load management based on resource theory and behavior economy, a stress theory of sports training and competition is developed. The result is a framework concept of a training theory dealing with phenomena of conditioning, technical and tactical training as resource-orientated stress effects to an equal extent and considering the interaction of loads, resources, strains and performances in the context of both the training and competition situation.
