Abstract

Die zweite Internationale Vista-Konferenz fand vom 28. August bis zum 01. September 1999 in Köln statt. 170 Athleten, Trainer, Leiter und Sportwissenschaftler aus 38 Ländern und allen Kontinenten dieser Welt trafen sich zusammen, um neue Horizonte, Entwicklungen und Möglichkeiten für den Behindertensport zu untersuchen und zu diskutieren. Im zweiten Band sind die Vorträge der Redner zu finden, die sich zu den Themen Integration, Entwicklung und Einstellung, Organisation und Verwaltung sowie Medien, Marketing und Sponsoring im Zusammenhang mit Behindertensport geäußert haben. Der vielseitige Blick ist unter anderem auf die Organisationsstruktur des Behindertensports, auf die Paralympics, auf die Integration von Athleten mit Behinderungen, auf die Gesundheit sowie auf Behindertensportprogramme gerichtet. Verschiedene Redner stellen Projekte und Modelle vor, an denen sie mitwirken, wie etwa das Guyana-Projekt stellvertretend für Projekte in Entwicklungsländern, das Alpinski-Modell in Kanada sowie Rollstuhl-Basketball in England und Deutschland. Außerdem wird über Entwicklungen und Prozesse gesprochen, die notwendig sind, um eine neue Sportart in die Liste der Paralympics aufzunehmen und es geht um die Situation behinderter Frauen. Beispiele hierfür sind der Reitsport und Gymnastik. Abschließend geht es um die Perspektiven im Bereich des Marketings und der Förderung im Behindertensport. Das Ergebnis ist ein facettenreicher, disziplinübergreifender Überblick über den neuesten Stand in dem sich schnell ausdehnenden Behindertensport. Die Referenten und ihre Beiträge sind: I.
