Abstract des Autors
Deep-water running (DWR) is a training mode that has gained popularity among coaches and conditioning specialists in recent years. A variety of athletes (injured and uninjured) are finding DWR workouts to be an attractive alternative to land-based training. Training is typically performed in the diving well of a swimming pool, so the lower body never contacts the pool bottom. Yet because water is about 800 times as dense as air DWR provides an excellent sport-specific workout. The goal of this article is to examine issues and practical guidelines for the effectivce use of DWR. Verf.-Referat
