Abstract

In this article recent advances in the fight against doping are presented, tasks to be solved in the future are highlighted, and recommendations are given which should be followed by athletes to avoid unjust accusation of doping and punishment. New developments of analysis in the area of anabolic agents are the improvement of the detection of synthetic steroids by means of High Resolution Mass Spectrometry (HRMS) and the application of Carbon Isotope Mass Spectrometry for the verification of doping with endogenous steroid hormones. The long-term verification of anabolic agents (beta-2 agonists and anabolics) in hair is currently the subject of further research and could be an option for the future. Verf.-Referat
