Author's abstract
Human-powered vehicles inhabit the interface where technology impacts human physiology and psychology. Thus they connect to some of the most serious issues facing humanity: the meaning of life, the future of civilization, and the impact of humans on the environment, as well as lesser issues of lifestyle, health and recreation, safety, and education. Let us look at what underlies human-powered vehicles, how they involve us in the present, and then speculate where they may be in 30 to 50 years. Verf.-Referat
