Abstract des Autors

We will discuss the conclusions of previous surveys based on new student teachers in Sports Management Studies (STAPS: Science and Techniques of Physical and Sporting Activities) from the same educational region, in particular the notion of a "socially dominated" public. The study is a secondary analysis of the data from a survey comparing, from a sociological angle, the social composition of the secondary school teachers (PLC2) on the one hand, and the future primary school teachers training at Alsace's IUFM (University Institute for Teacher Training) on the other. The study also compares their attitudes towards the training they receive. This article takes as its subject the comparative study of the future secondary school teachers (PLC2) in sports (EPS) and their homologues from other discipines. We will show that the social and educational characteristics of the future secondary school sports teachers are similar to those of other "capetiens" (level of competitive teaching exam) but that their school careers are not similar.
