The ever-growing diffusion of the echography on the territory has allowed its use even for the study of the knee. Of particularly interest and utility is its application of the sporting acute traumatic lesion. The echography can be made soon after the traumatic event in order to complete the clinic visit and can be useful to show further diagnostic and therapeutic steps. The echography allows the study of the normal anatomy of the knee and its pathological alterations post traumatic. Tendons, internal and external collateral ligaments, the capsule and articular cartilages can be seen. Anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments as well as posterior joint space meniscus, lateral and medial are partially visible. The echography allows to distinguish strains of first, second and third degree and also to show the presence of endoarticular liquid. Verf.-Referat
