Abstract
Elbow injuries commonly occur in the athlete. The team physician must be proficient in the in the diagnosis, work-up, rehabilitation and treatment, and timing for return to play of both acute and chronic elbow injuries. This article deals with common elbow disorders seen in both adult and child athletes. Tendinopathies, throwing injuries, instability, nerve compression syndromes, trauma, and pediatric injuries of the elbow are reviewed. The on-field assessment of the acutely injured elbow in the athlete is included. Verf.-Referat
