Abstract des Autors

A case of positive ulnar variance was observed in a 14-yr-old female gymnast with an 8-yr history of gymnastic training. Chronic weight-bearing wrist pain symptoms with no specific traumatic incident was reported. X-rays revealed a length increase in the ulna of the left forearm. Magnetic resonance imaging was done to confirm an intact triangle fibrocartilage complex but suggested Kienbock's disease, which was later ruled out by a bone scan. This paper discusses the diagnosis of this condition, discusses management and prevention strategies, as well as the surgical considerations that this patient had considered. In conclusion, early detection and wrist-injury prevention gymnastics training guidelines are outlined. Verf.-Referat
