Abstract

For ages humans have been gliding over snow and sliding on ice. These are traditions kept alive in many parts of the world, making important parts of national and local cultures and identities. The papers contained in this book represent the historical perspectives on winter sports and games of 15 countries. The authors and their contributions are: I. Winter identities: 1.
