N2 - The results are reported of a study of a group of 20 children with funnel chest (6 girls, 14 boys aged 9-15 years) treated conservatively without indications to surgery. In the group the effort tolerance threshold was measured by the exercise test after one year of rehabilitation treatment compared to the results obtained in their healthy peers. At the beginning before the rehabilitation treatment the oxygen metabolism was determined at rest and during exercise. The effort tolerance was tested in the Laboratory of Functional Diagnosis, Physical Education Academy - Mother and Child Institue in Warsaw. For the workload during the test the Ergotest system (with cycle ergometer) computer-controlled based on the programme "System of Effort Ability Assessment" was used. For the assessment of effort tolerance the W170 test was applied based on a specific biofeedback of cardiovascular system reaction in which the rate of function increase regulated the degree of workload. Oxygen uptake was measured with the ErgoOxyscreen apparatus. Verf.-Referat
