Abstract des Autors

Into of the most often observed discomforts of the locomotion apparatus of the modern men, both in the productive and postproductive age, one must include the spinal column problems. In many countries the so called back problems rose to a social problem. For this reason, decades ago, in many highly developed countries the steps were taken towards lowering the incidents of such illnesses. Special educational programmes, named "Back schools" with the aim of popularizing the ways and methods used in prevention and treatment of the spinal column illnesses were even created. The aim of this work is to present, on the basis of the anglo-saxon literature, the historical account of the development of the modern system, known as "Back school". The main objectives, aims, ways and methods used in the centers conducting the activities mentioned above were also discussed. Verf.-Referat
