Abstract des Autors

In the literature on girls and women's socialization into sport, there has been a pattern of using male behavior and experience as the yardstick by which to evaluate female sport participation. This "female deficit" model upholds tradtional male attitudes and values in sport as the ideal. In this paper, I will propose an alternative to the "female deficit" model, based on a radical femnisit analysis, that is, a woman-centered approach that calls into question traditional male values, attitudes and practices in sport and takes sexuality and violence issues into account in its interpretation and analysis of girls` and women experience.
