Abstract des Autors
The fractures of the humerus account for about 4.5% in the statistics of all fractures in adults. In recent years most of such fractures have been treated by Caldwell's functional method in supporting-bandage dressing. The results are presented of functional treatment of impacted fractures of the humeral neck - 67 cases, humeral shaft fractures - 91 cases, comminuted intra-articular fractures of the distal humeral epiphysis - 95 cases. The analysis of the results showed that functional treatment gave better general outcome, accelerated the union of fractured fragments and healing of articular cartilage, and is a simple and safe method.
