Abstract des Autors

Our studies have confirmed the old findings that maximal anaerobic performance either on a treadmill or on a track is determined by maximal mechanical and alactic power, maximal lactic power and by anaerobic capacity. We also found that blood lactate concentration at submaximal sprinting velocities seemed to be a very important determinant of maximal anaerobic performance. Submaximal blood lactate concentration has widely been used in practice to evaluate the performance capacity in sprint running and we suggest that it could be used as an indirect index of sprinting economy as well as in the prescription of training pace for interval training. Previously, Schnabel and Kindermann have also observed that a small increase in blood lactate concentration during non-exhaustive sprinting is associated with excellent performance in sprinting events and they suggested that it is related to increased alactic anaerobic capacity.
