Abstract des Autors

The development of new modern sports and the increase of recreational sports have affected the rate of injuries and alterations to the urogenital system differently due to primary athletic injuries. Primary athletic injuries lead to a participation of the urogenital system in 3.5-13%. Concerning the kind of athletic activity, they are due to blunt (often single organ lesion), speed (often multiorgan injuries), and straddle trauma (often accompanied by urethral injury). Athletic injuries induce renal and lower genitourinary tract lesions in 12% and 10%, respectively. The single lesion of urogenital organs are classified by specific diagnostic procedures. This classification determines the individual treatment. In principle, diagnosis and therapy of urogenital trauma due to sports are related to the general handling of urologic trauma. Verf.-Referat
