Abstract des Autors

In more than 80% of the sports injuries of the dentoalveolar region, the upper incisors are involved. The most common injuries are intra-alveolar and extra-alveolar root fractures, crown fractures, and tooth luxations. In case of root fractures, fixation of the involved teeth by means of an acrylic splint, orthograde pin fixation, or replantation in combination with a retrograde pin fixation are the possible therapy concepts. In case of total luxation, a central pin is also inserted from retrograde and the tooth will be reimplanted. If the tooth has been lost, its replacement by implantation of an artifical root is today's most common therapy. Verf.-Referat
