Abstract des Autors
In MR tomographic investigations of joints, imaging of the layers of the hyaline cartilage, the subchondral boundary lamella, ligaments and the disci and menisci is of primary importance. For this reason, methods which improve the spatial resolution of these structures are desirable. For this reason, the 3D gradient echo technique (which enables spatial resolution by voxels of less than 1 mm) was used for investigation of joints. Using an image analysis system, planigraphic sections of any given orientation and position can be reconstructed from the 3D data set after the investigation. In this way, it is possible to image the cruciate ligaments, the menisci, collateral ligaments, patellar tendons and to reconstruct double-oblique layers before and after angular correction osteotomies on the hips.
