Abstract des Autors

Fourteen amateur bodybuilders were studied at the beginning and end of a 10 week training (2 h daily, 5 days a week, they lifted about 15 tons per session). The following enzyme activities were determined in venous blood: creatine kinase (CK), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), alpha-hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase (alpha-HBDH), aspartate and alanine aminotransferases (AST and ALT, respectively) and alkaline phosphatate (ALP). Significant changes in CK activities were observed in both periods of study in nearly two-third of subjects while in no case changes in GGT or ALP were noted. The recreational training in body building has not affected liver cells and the only source of cellular enzymes were probably skeletal muscles and, perhaps, heart muscle, as follows from the correlations between enzyme activities. Those engaged in recreational body building should thus be under a periodical cardiovascular control. Verf.-Referat
