Abstract des Autors
In the endurance events a successful competition participation can hardly be realized without some knowledge of sports medicine. Apart from the target-oriented use of possibilities of load control via biological parameters measured, the immediate medical and physiotherapeutic care of the athlete is very important. Furthermore, the following aspects must be considered: the use of potential performance reserves for competition, the time periods necessary for developing high competition performance, the principles of short-term competition preparation, the use of training at moderate altitudes and different climatic zones.
