Overload injuries are the most common injuries around the elbow. The pathophysiology of these injuries involves repetitive microtrauma, which produces cellular and tissue effects that decrease the athlete's ability to perform normally. This predisposed athlete may then proceed to overt clinical injury through continued play. Awareness of this process allows for accurate diagnosis, treatment, and possible prevention of these injuries. Verf.-Referat
